Cynthia D. Dorsey, MS., Rev.

Secretary

Cynthia Dorsey has several years of administrative experience working with local non profits. She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Nyack College in the graduate and undergraduate departments in areas of mass communication, and education. She is exceptionally gifted multitaskers and has been a dedicated educator at Nyack College, where she worked in the adult continuing educational department. She has a love for people and seeing everyone reach their best possible potential. She has served as the Secretary of H20 for several years and has worked closely with Lovonia.


Dawn Erb, RN., C.S.A.,

Board Member

Dawn is Certified Surgical Assistant Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – 600 Gresham Drive, Norfolk, Virginia. She is a Registered Nurse Eastern Virginia Medical School Acts as a first or second assistant on all subspecialties of surgical cases providing technical assistance as required by the type of procedure and under the direct supervision of the surgeon; assists with patient positioning and making sure all necessary equipment is available; acts as a preceptor to student surgical assistants; assists with the sterilization of equipment and supplies.  Disposes of contaminated items as directed by the OR policy and maintains sterility at all times; maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment for the OR suites; supply carts and storage rooms. She has travelled to several countries globally as a RN working in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Haiti, and the Philippines. She has worked closely with Lovonia and H20 on several trips to East Africa. 


Sharlene McCallum BS

Vice President & Treasurer

Has served faithfully as Vice President and Treasurer of H20 4 from its inception. She is a small business owner who has ran a child daycare services for more then 10 years. She has a love of children and desires to see all children grow to be productive members of their community with a eye on changing the world around them. She is the wife of Christopher McCallum she has three sons. She was born and raised in Rockland County and has worked in the corporate cosmetic industry for 17 years. As owner of and Director of Christian Nursery School she is years and now birthing my own Chrisitian day care, Kings Kids Day Care Center. She is an ordained elder at Union Baptist Church of New Rochelle, NY where Overseer Reginald L. Hudson is the pastor. She loves working in various ministries in her church such as the Teaching ministry, Youth Ministry and Ministerial ministry. She is currently enrolled in the online program of Walden University in preparation to obtain my BS in Child Development with focus on Infants and Toddlers. She is known for her clear advice and has help to guide H20 as the organization grows and expands.


Lovonia Mallory LMSW.,

President

Lovonia Mallory has worked professionally in state government as a reviewer of clinical records for compliance with state and federal law. She provides  quality assurance procedures, and policies to determine the effectiveness of internal evaluation procedures and compliance with stated regulations. She has travelled to Kenya multiple times since 2009. H20 grew out of her desire to see children excel.


Olajumoke Itebe BSW.,

Board Member

Olajumoke is currently pursuing her degree in Social Work at the State University of NY at Albany. She has worked as a Coordinator Women’s Advocacy Group for more then three years. She advocates Women, Infant, and Children, as a (WIC) Peer Counselor. Her love of adolescents has allowed her to provide community advocacy for youth within the Capital District area for more then five years.  She is bilingual speaking several languages, including English, Yoruba, and Hausa. She has a keen ability to work with families from diverse, cultural background and love to see people grow beyond their perceived limitations .


Jesse Grossman C-LMSW.,

Board Advisor

Jesse is a N.Y.S. Clinical Social Work and distinguished member of the Society National Association of Social Workers. She as served on the NASW Steering Committee and has functioned as a Member of National Committee for Nomination and Leadership Identification; Chair, Clinical Committee . She has been the recipient of the 2017 Dual Awards Winner: Lifetime Achievement Award, WNY Division NASW; Lifetime Achievement Award, New York State Chapter, National Association of Social Workers. Jesse is directly involved in the development of the Spoken Word Repository and advising the board on matters related to mentoring of youth.


Lonnie Spath

Communications Advisor

Lonnie Spath has been in the communications field, in one form or another, for over 20 years. He has experience in marketing and communications in large corporations, marketing organizations, newspapers and most recently in the public sector. In his years in communications, his emphasis has been in graphic design for print, web and video. He has written, directed and produced for several TV advertisements, human interest documentaries and public information campaigns.

He holds degrees in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences from SUNY Adirondack and History and Teaching Theory from The Noordelijke Hogeschool Leeuwarden (currently NHL/Stenden) in The Netherlands. 

Dr. Emily Obuya Ph.D.,

Technical Advisor and Cultural Liaison

Dr. Obuya is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The Sage Colleges, in Troy NY and is the Technical Advisor and Cultural Liaison, for H20. She meets virtually with the sponsored Karanda students and provides cultural and technical support the Board. In December 2019 She travelled to Kisumu to deliver school supplies, clothing, and solar lamps  and to meet face to face, with the sponsored Karanda students, the in Country consultant and school officials and board of governors.  Dr. Emily Obuya,  is a highly accomplished professor and  a recipient of the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship where she worked to develop a course of study for in Analytical Chemistry.  She is also on the advisory board for Sanctuary for Independent Media with the NATURELab a community environmental initiative in Troy, N,Y. Dr. Emily has worked internationally in the area of water quality management most recently she travelled to her home county worked in Kisumu, Kenya  to evaluate the effectiveness of SODIS (recycled water bottle) UV solar radiation as alternative to expensive treatment systems. Dr Emily provides H20 with the cultural lens necessary to develop cultural competent Karanda Educational Iniaitive program .

Domnic Awouth

In-Country Consultant

Domnic Awouth has worked with and been affiliated with Lovonia Mallory and H2O 4 Africa since 2009 during their first medical camp in rural Kenya. Dominic Awouth is the past moderator of the Kisumu Baptist Association with more than 2000 churches under his direct tutelage and responsibility. He is a great man of courage, dedication, and has worked tirelessly for the educational initiative sponsored by H2O 4 Africa Equals Life Charities Inc., . As the In-Country Consultant he is the man on the ground, prescreening sponsees, meeting with the board of governors of ( i.e. PTA Karanda) Mix Secondary School, meeting with the Head Principal and conducting regular visits to the school. He has supported the Karanda the graduates, and current students out of his own resources providing them with some of the basic essentials necessary to continue their education. He provides meeting space for the students to meet regularly in small group discussions. He has hosted visits from board members, and escorted the board president on home visits and prescreening assessments. Mr. Awouth assist the board in obtaining regular updates, and the necessary grades, school fees, and national exam results. He allow students and board members to utilize church facilities for small group discussions, luncheon and supplies distribution. He is a key member of the H20 4 Africa team.
